The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) to recruit officers for the Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS), and other allied services.

1. Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent Resident of Assam.

   

• Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 38 years (as of January 1 of the exam year).

   

  • Relaxations: SC/ST (+5 years), OBC/MOBC (+3 years), PwBD (+10 years).

     

• Education: A Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

   

• Language: You should be proficient in Assamese or other official languages of the state.

2. Examination Stages

The APSC CCE follows a three-stage selection process:

Stage I: Preliminary Examination (Objective)

This is a screening test; marks are not counted for the final merit list.

Candidates who clear the Mains are called for an interview worth 180 marks. The final merit list is prepared by adding Mains + Interview marks (1680 total).

Salary: An ACS officer’s starting basic pay is approximately ₹30,000 with a Grade Pay of ₹13,300. Including allowances (DA, HRA), the gross starting salary is roughly ₹70,000+ per month.
