We human eat different types of food daily like rice green vegetable and meat.

Have you ever wondered that why do we need different types of food to survive . because a single food components can’t provide all basic need that is why we need to take  different food components to survive .

A single food components do not provide all types of substance that we need .Example a vitamin containing substance can not provide proteins function  same a substance containing protein can’t provide vitamins function .

              All food components called nutrients .So  food components are divided into several types which are given bellow

          1) carbohydrates  

           2) Fats

  3) Protein

      4) Vitamin

        5) Minarals

       6) Fiber

Again food components are divided into three categories according to their function . The list is given bellow

           ! ) Energy giving  food

           2)Body building food

          3) Protective food .

Once again food is divided into two categories  according to the amount of using

1) Macronutrients

2) Micronutrients

All food components are needed for us but not in equal amount some components are needed small amount and some large amount .

      So the food components which are use in large scale by us is called Macronutrients .

 Example  

  • Carbohydrates

        It gives energy

         Source fruits , vegetable legumes , grains

  •  Proteins

      Build and repair tissue

      Providing structure to cell

      Help to fight against infaction

  • Fats

      Energy storage storage cell function nutrients absorption

      Source    oils nuts fatty fish

Again some food components are used in small amount which are called  Micronutrients

So, example of  Micronutrients .

                  Butter,  ghee , Vegetable oils , nuts and seeds such as almonds

                 Fatty fish

The food components which are use in small scale are called Micronutrients . But it is very essential for normal growth of our body .

  • Vitamins 

      These are organic compound that help in various body function .

  • Minerals

       These are inorganic elements that the body needs for elements that body needs for various function .

           Fruits , Vegetables , Milk , Meat , Nuts , Whole grains etc. .
